Studio Membership
Limerick Printmakers is a welcoming and inclusive space shared by a diverse range of talented people of all ages and backgrounds – printmakers, photographers, artists, graphic designers, creators, tutors and lecturers, current students and graduates of the visual arts. Limerick Printmakers currently hosts and supports approximately 70 studio members.
LP welcomes applications from printmakers already working across a range of processes, through to creators who specialise or concentrate on a single process or technique.
As an inclusive studio space, our cohort of members includes those who hold formal qualifications in printmaking &/or photographic practices, alongside those who have achieved a level of proficiency in at least one process or technique through lifelong training, accessing private courses, and experimentation.
Please note that LP defines ‘proficiency’ as being able to work within the studio setting in at least one process or technique with minimal to no supervision or support.
If you do not currently meet this criteria you cannot be considered for membership but LP encourages you to work towards this goal by completing courses in any print studio/ developing your own practice if you would like to apply in the future.
LP welcomes approaches from anyone who is unsure if they currently meet the criteria for membership or who would like to pursue membership in the very near future.

LP MEMBERSHIP: APPLICATION PROCESS
- Request and complete LP membership application form & return with pdf of 6 to 14 images of works in print &/ or photography that best outline your practice/ work to date.
Applications submitted without the details of two referees &/or pdf with examples of previous relevant work cannot be assessed. - LP will assess your application and contact your referees to confirm your experience to date. Ideal referees include former lecturers, tutors or facilitators from courses you have undertaken, studio technicians, other printmakers – anyone who has observed you working in a studio setting or is familiar with your practice.
- LP will then communicate their decision to you in a timely manner.
- If invited to join the studio, an induction into the studio will be arranged & delivered by LP’ studio technician.
All new members must be inducted before they can work in the studio. - Payment will also be organised before being inducted – LP offers the opportunity for members to pay their fees in a single payment or to set up a Standing Order to be paid over a number of months.
