Verona was born in Lübeck, Germany and now lives in Newport, Co. Tipperary. She studied Fine Art/Sculpture at the Limerick School of Art & Design and graduated with a National Diploma in Art.

Her work has been shown in solo, duo and group exhibitions in Ireland, Germany and the UK. She is a recipient of a number of awards given by the Arts Office of North Tipperary, including for a solo show, the Tipperary artists award and a Tyrone Guthrie Residency Bursary. Her work is in the public collection of Tipperary Arts Council and private collections in Ireland, Germany, France, UK, NZ and Australia.

Verona found entry into printmaking by attending workshops such as photo etching, silkscreen, and poly plate lithography at the Limerick Printmakers studios. She participated in “20/20 international Hot Bed Press print exchange”, LYRICAL” a postcard print exchange with the Southern Printmakers Association, Australia and “Encounter” a project for Impact 10, international print conference.

In her latest work Verona explores the concept of the oceans and shores as both human and natural environments and the manner in which they impact on one another. From coastal zones where nature and human spheres converge she collects natural and marine debris from which she creates sculptures and installations.

In her sculptural pieces this detritus attains an aesthetic quality thus creating an ambivalent confrontation between the beautiful and the repellent. Some of her print works correspond thematically with her sculptural work and echo the found material, for example marine netting, rust and plastics.
